Use it for Project Status Meetings
- We’ve talked elsewhere about Project Status Meetings and whether you really need them. Another way to decide is to use the PSI as follows.
- The Project Manager and the Project Manager’s boss both calculate the PSI. Then they compare the six individual scores and the totals.
- If each pair of numbers are identical or very close, then there’s probably no need for a status meeting since all of the project essentials are in good shape.
- On the other hand, if there are any pairs of numbers that differ wildly, then this gives the agenda for the status meeting – these are the issues that need to be addressed.
